All packets of needles have 2 sizes on them (eg 80/12). The first number (80) is the European size which is usually used in Australia, and the second number is the American size (12).

SCHMETZ SPRING NEEDLES
 These needles have a spring around the needle.
This spring holds down the fabric as the needle penetrates helping prevent skipped stitches.
They are used for embellishing in free form sewing with or without a hoop with the feed dogs down.
Use for machines which don't have a spring darning foot.
Available in single packs of size 80/12.

These have three needles on one shank.
They sew especially beautiful decoration in Heirloom sewing.
